Help for Sterling Grey’s Compendium — the private music archive you build one artist at a time. If something isn’t working, or a catalog you bought hasn’t come back, start here.

Restoring your catalogs

If you reinstall the app, move to a new device, or sign in with a different Apple Account, your unlocked catalogs come back with Restore Purchases. You will never be charged again for a catalog you already own.

  • Open SettingsTap the gear in the hub, at the top of your shelf.
  • Tap Restore PurchasesThe app checks your Apple Account and unlocks everything it finds.
  • Or restore from where you areRestore also appears on the pulled-record fan, the catalog preview screen, and the bundle sheet — you don’t have to go back to Settings.

A catalog didn’t come back? Check that you’re signed in with the same Apple Account that bought it — this is the usual cause, especially on a second device or a family iPad. If it’s the right account and the catalog is still locked, write to help@sterlinggrey.tech and say which catalog and which device. I’ll sort it out.

Common questions

What do I get without paying anything?
The app itself is free, and Pink Floyd’s complete studio catalog comes with it — the full discography, the credits, the liner notes, the Reading Room. Nothing about it is a trial.
Is there a subscription?
No. Nothing expires and nothing renews. Catalogs are bought once and they stay bought.
Do I need Apple Music?
Only for listening. The archive itself — discographies, credits, sessions, liner notes and search — works without it. Playback and previews come through Apple Music, so a subscription is what turns a track listing into a track you can hear.
Which devices does it run on?
iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. A catalog bought on one is available on the others through the same Apple Account.
How do I add more artists?
Each artist is a catalog you unlock when you want it, from a growing roster. There’s a bundle if you’d rather have the run of the place at once.
The artist I want isn’t there.
Tell me who. The roster is built around records that reward this kind of attention, and requests genuinely shape what gets built next. Write to help@sterlinggrey.tech with a name.
I found a wrong credit.
Please tell me. Credits are taken from the records themselves rather than scraped, but a catalog this size will have mistakes in it. Send the album, the track, and what’s wrong, and it gets fixed in the next update.

Contact

Everything reaches one place: help@sterlinggrey.tech. It’s read by the person who built the app.

If you’re reporting a problem, the fastest fix comes from including your device, whether you’re on iPad or Mac, and the name of the catalog involved.

Privacy

The app collects nothing about you. The full statement is on the Privacy Policy page.
